Eric William Borst, 27, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ September 4, 2017.

He was born March 1, 1990, in Indianapolis, the son of Dr. Philip C. Borst and Jill Alexander Borst.  He attended Calvary Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Lutheran High School.  He attended Purdue University and graduated from the University of Indianapolis.  He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

Eric is survived by his parents; his brother, Alexander Borst; and loving family and friends.

A private church service will be held.  Memorial donations may be directed to Calvary Lutheran Church and School, 6111 Shelby St., Indianapolis, IN  46227.  Arrangements by Indiana Funeral Care.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.indianafuneralcare.com.

    I’m deeply saddened for your loss. Eric was a big part of my life growing up, going to school with him from second grade all the way through high school. Some of my favorite memories are playing basketball for calvary Lutheran and being a part of the runner up state team at Lutheran. I always enjoyed running into you guys outside of school. He was witty, compassionate, and a true gentleman. I will never forget his kindness in visiting Jared when he was sick in the hospital. He always came with a gift and a smile.   58. Dr. Borst, I just found out about the death of Eric and I really feel bad about your families loss. I was a substitute teacher at Lutheran High when Eric was a student and he was so helpful to me in class. We enjoyed a nice relationship since my last name is also Borst and I always wrote Mr. Borst on the board at the start of each class, I still remember the first time I had Eric in class and he and some other students thought it was a joke when they saw my last name. He was really excited when he found out that was really my last name and became one of my biggest supporters those years that I had him in class. I’m so sorry for your loss and I also feel the loss of your fine young man. I hope Alex is doing well. Bill Borst
